I am a dancer, yogi , traveller , living in Portugal and born in the UK. My training started from a young age when I attended the Arts Educational School , Tring where I studied acting, dancing, arts and singing. From there I ventured in attaining my BA Hons at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating in 2008.
From graduation I have worked for many interesting and varied companies, choreographers including Neil Callaghan and Simone Kenyon, Dan Canham/ StillHouse, Laura Dannequin, Oona Doherty Dance , Junk Ensemble, Aletta Collins, Laila Diallo, Marc Brew, StillHouse, Impermanence Dance Theatre, Neon Dance, Rosie Kay Dance, C-12 Dance Theatre, Lorena Randi, Willi Dornier, to name but a few. The work has also toured Nationally and Internationally taking me to countries like China, Georgia , Eastern Europe and many others.
Alongside working for companies I have worked in Operas (UK and France), a performer for research work for top west end shows, music videos and film, giving me a varied and open career. Within this I also open my branches and interests into rehearsal direction , movement direction and teaching. Collaborations include working with the amazing visual artist Madison Bycroft ( Australia) with whom I formed a bond with when working on a project in 2017.
My immense love of travel took me to India in 2013 where I became a certified Yoga teacher. I have continued to practice yoga throughout the years and believe it truly supports my body throughout my dancing days. I will be developing my practice this April and studying the art of Yin Yoga.
My main interest in dance is within human connection, collaborative performance , non orthodox environments and being part of productions with subject matters that have something to say , be it political, environmental or spiritual.
A recent move has also taken me to Portugal where new doors are opening. My partner and I are setting up a studio space for retreats and artist residencies. The land and house sit in a beautiful valley where the dream is to create a sanctuary for all to come too. For all creative endeavours to deepen, practices to arise, and for space and clarity to be had. We hope to set up a space, where food will be grown , cooked, creations be made, meditations in the moonlight and healing dips in the sea. Its in extremely early stages but I will endeavour to keep all in the loop about this exciting new venture.
Until then, the journey will continue to challenge me and bring joy into my life.
